Zion-St. John Lutheran Church began as two separate churches: Zion Lutheran Church and St. John Lutheran Church, both south of Wisner. Each congregation started a Lutheran School and worked together in providing K-8th grade education to members of both congregations. Eventually the two churches combined to become Zion-St. John Lutheran Church and School.
Zion-St. John Lutheran Church has been a great supporter of Lutheran Education. The congregation is a mission-minded congregation supporting missions across the world and here at home. There is a long appreciation of music and God has blessed our congregation with much musical talent. Ultimately, the desire to grow in God’s Word and His Sacraments still characterizes Zion-St. John to this day.
